Fun Weekend

I did my spa day on Saturday and Cory took Moose to the car show they had out at Keeneland. They had a blast. Cory said that Moose was on "Car!Car!Car!..." overload. Here is a picture of them playing football. Notice how he tucks the football under his arm so well, it looks like we have a future running back on our hands.

Here are some pictures from the park. Charing recommended this one because it is so open, Wes could run around by himself and we wouldn't loose him. Plus, Cory seems to fit so well on all this stuff;)

And that's all, the rest of my weekend will consist of cleaning the bathroom and finishing up laundry.

Not Much Going On...

Last weekend I had SIS Day in D-ville. My cousin Jenn and my mom all drove down to the farm to visit with my aunt, Lucy’s Mom who was in to visit and my other aunt Cici who lives with my Nana. We had a very yummy lunch at a little hole in the wall cafĂ©, then we walked up to the local bakery where I bought Moose’s first gingerbread men cookies. Well, actually I bought gingerbread men for both Cory and I too, since we love them too. I am planning on making them with Moose this Christmas.
Our good friend Chris moved home to Chicago last weekend also. Cory went to a going away party on Saturday night, and I ended up going home because my ears were bothering me so badly. Chris and Uhaul got into a huge fight and they seemed to have given him the wrong sort of towing dolley to take his 1981 Trans Am with him. So, this lovely piece of crapola is taking up my space in the driveway. According to Cory, it will only be there for another week. I told him to tell Chris that if the TA was still there in two more weeks, then I was putting it up on Ebay for $1.
I was so convinced there was something wrong with my ears. I have been having ear pain for months now. Horrible ear pain. And I keep getting sick. I have had four ear infections and two or three sinus infections in the last four or five months. So, on Friday I went to see the ENT that did Moose’s ears. I was pretty sure he was going to gasp in horror when he glanced into my ears, but instead he asked if the pain was shooting through my jaw. I said that yes, it was that horrible, it was actually shooting all the way to my jaw. He sent me for a hearing test, which I barely passed, by the way, apparently I am right on the edge of having hearing loss, then he met with me in a little conference room. My ears were not infected. Not at all. They were pristine. I am not having problems with my ears. I am having problems with my jaw. I am being sent to an oral surgeon to find out more about my Temporo-Mandibular Joint pain, or TMJ as it is more commonly known. I am also having allergy problems all of a sudden, which is odd considering I have never had problems before. I’m on a daily nasal spray which has already helped me. My appointment with the TMJ guy is next Monday at 9. It can’t be here fast enough.
I cut Moose’s hair. Myself. It was not hard. I also trimmed Scout up. She looks so cute, like a puppy again. Except with big long legs.
This weekend was pretty tame. Not much to tell there. I trimmed some bushes, and made some mental plans to plant some mums next weekend.
I saw the girls on Saturday morning for breakfast. We ate, we gossiped. Cory rebuilt his rear differential on his truck. That was really it. I think we went to the grocery too.
I’ve been pretty busy with graphic design at home. I helped Sarah redesign her blog.
Here is a before shot:
Here is after I designed her header art and fixed some of the colors in a new template:
Stop by and tell her how pretty and fabulous her cousin is… wait, I mean how pretty and fabulous her new blog design is;)
I am in the process of helping Mrs. Who with her new blog design as well, so I will keep you updated.
Our plans for the weekend have changed literally three times, so I am not sure what we are planning now. I do know that I am using a spa gift certificate on Saturday, so I am looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend.

Grandma and Carissa Visit!

Moose was very excited when Cory and I told him Grandma and Carissa were coming to visit!

Helping Mommy make breakfast.

Workin' our puzzle.

Checkin' out auto parts with Daddy.

Visiting with Grandma and Carissa.

Overall we had a great weekend. Of course it was way too short, but it was definitely a ton of fun. Alice christened the guest bedroom as our first guest to stay in there. Carissa chose to stay downstairs on the couch bed. It was so great to have room to put everyone!
Friday we just hung out all day. Everyone met me for lunch at Red Lobster, and we were lucky enough to have Sarah and Tarp meet us there too! Very yummy.
Saturday we ended up having an impromptu cookout. All the ZPOs came and even Tarp! We had a blast, even though it was approximately a million degrees outside. We even had smores to celebrate the first official cookout.
Sunday came too soon. Alice and Carissa headed home, and we had to get used to a much quieter house. Moose can't wait till Grandma and Carissa come back for a visit!

Long Time No Blog...

Here are some pictures from Cory's birthday party:

Sorry we've been a bit busy. I know, it only takes a few minutes to post. I should make the time. So-here you go-I'm making the time!
Two weekends ago:
Friday we joined up with Jenn, Sarah, and Rhi, and waited in line with about 1000 other people at Joseph Beth, for the new Harry Potter book. It was a blast! We met for dinner at The Pub, a thoroughly English bar, (to get in the HP mood;) which was very good. Cory and I had never been before, so we were trying everything. Excellent food. Good beer. Great company. What more could you want? After dinner we headed over to get in line. Jenn and Sarah brought chairs and we sat outside in the very crowded line. We people watched, ate ice cream, and gossiped excessively. Then at approximately midnight we were handed our very own treasured copy of the new Harry Potter book. We both have finished it now, and to not ruin it for anyone else, I'll just say that I enjoyed it, and I believe it was the best written of the series.
Saturday we visited Cory's work friend, Bill's house. They had a cookout. I brought Alice's Famous Mint Ice Cream Dessert with us. It was a big hit, as always. I even had to give the recipe out.
I have no idea what we did Sunday, so it's safe to say that we had family dinner at M&Ds, and that was probably it.
During the week I got another ear infection, which has still not cleared up. I actually made an appointment at the ENT for the 17th. So hopefully he can do something for me. This is getting ridiculous. I'll keep you updated. Also-I will take Jenn's advice and call ahead to see if the doc is running late on his appointments:)
Emily came in to visit on Thursday, for Cory's birthday. We celebrated at Murray's on the patio which was SO NICE. We had a great time. Almost everyone was able to come, we ate, drank and were very merry. Em headed home on Monday.
We got our new mattress today. Luckily right before my Mother-in-law and sister come and visit this weekend. I just got the new bedding put on, and it looks really cute. I'll take a picture later, after I get some stuff for the walls. Our new mattress, for our bed is very awesome. We got a sleep number bed. And it is so comfortable! Can't wait to sleep on it tonight. I'll keep you updated!
As I mentioned, my MIL and SIL are coming down tomorrow to stay for the weekend. We are really looking forward to seeing them. Our plans to go North and visit keep getting put off. Cory has used all of his vacation time with his knee surgery. He only has a week left, and we don't want to miss Christmas this year, so it is allotted for that time.
We have no plans for when my MIL and SIL come, which is always the best, because then we can sit and gossip, or go shopping, whatever strikes us. Should be fun. Hopefully I will have some good pictures to share.
Have to run dinner is almost ready. Love to all!
